C&A Friedlander has the pleasure of extending a warm welcome to Braam van Huyssteen, AJVH Holdings and their Mr Tekkie as new clients of the firm.
Braam van Huyssteen was named South Africa’s Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young in 2011. Mr. Tekkie is a new, proudly South African retailer focusing on branded sports apparel and footwear, founded by Van Huyssteen, Bernard Mostert and Dawie van Niekerk.
In this short time the company has expanded rapidly and currently boasts 42 branches operating in all major cities and towns across South Africa. The success of the athleisure apparel and footwear chain is highlighted in the new, successful business partnership just concluded with luxury lifestyle brands leader, New House of Busby, which was restructured and saved through a successful Business Rescue process that was supported by 91% of the creditors of the company. AJVH provided Post Commencement Funding and the Business Rescue Practitioners were Hans Klopper and Dawie van der Merwe of BDO. C&A Friedlander acted as lead legal advisor to the company.
