There are a few legal documents that can be drawn up without the assistance of legal aid, in theory at least, such as Wills and Prenuptial Contracts. The validity of these independently drawn-up documents can be easily disputed, though, and are often found falling short of legal requirements.

A Notary is a public functionary who is authorized to draw and attest contracts and other documents, ensuring legality never becomes an issue.
